Ask a Librarian

The mission of the Baker College libraries

is to fully support the educational endeavors of students, faculty and staff of Baker College

· by providing service and instruction,

· by collecting and organizing curriculum focused resources, and

· by providing access to new information products and services,

thereby making the library a destination conducive to effective learning and academic success.

The library is the place to go when you want to do research...study...do group work...or just relax between classes. The main area of the library can get a little noisy from students working together and librarians assisting students with their research.  Individual study carrells are arranged around the outside of the main room to give students a space to study by themselves.  A silent study/no voices area (Special Collections Room) is available for those who need a quiet place to study.  In addition, the library has four study rooms for use by groups of 2 or more.

The library has 23 computers for student use.  All computers require a Baker login; ask library staff for assistance.

Computers are to be used for research purposes.  Those using the computers for other purposes may be asked to log off if the computer is needed.

Computers do not have any software on them (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, or Typing programs) you will need to go to the computer lab (Learning Support Services, Room G-103) if you need a computer with software installed on it.
