There is a need to improve and expand upon cultural diversity training programs at Lily’s restaurant. The purpose of this research is to determine how cultural diversity training impacts team synergy at Lily’s restaurant. The following three concepts constitute the conceptual framework that supports this research: succession planning, importance of inspiring a shared vision, and job shadowing. Using a qualitative case study, data were collected via interview questions. Research questions asked about how does cultural diversity training impact team synergy, how would employees feel when provided with continual cultural diversity training, what specific barriers impact team synergy, what factors, if any, prevent the company from implementing cultural diversity training, and what elements in a cultural diversity training program are most effective. The sample consisted of six participants, chosen from professional profiles from the human resource department at Lily’s. Data were analyzed and used to develop themes for each research question. The results indicated that a lack of communication, low morale, a lack of productivity, and resistance to change are some of the most challenging issues which can lead to low job satisfaction. Employees believed that cultural diversity training expands employee’s knowledge in areas such as employee satisfaction and culture awareness fostering an environment of trust, recognition, and motivation. This study is beneficial for organizations and employees in the 21st century as it affects employee morale and the bottom line. Today’s workplace has more employees who are diverse, so the need for employees to understand how to effectively work together is essential.
