Group learning is positively associated with academic achievement. However, group work activities can be difficult to successfully implement in both online and face-to-face classroom environments. In this session, we will identify and analyze some of the challenges you may be facing in facilitating group work activities. A brief overview of how to apply a cooperative learning group strategy within your classrooms will be provided including planning engaging activities using group dynamics theory, determining the best team formation model to meet your activity goals, and motivating students to participate in, and contribute to, group work activities.
