It can involve working with many different writing technologies, and mixing texts, data, and images. Written communication abilities develop through iterative experiences across the curriculum.

What Does Writing "Do?"

• Writing fosters and refines our ability to explain, inform, and analyze ideas for others and ourselves.

• Writing preserves our ideas, thoughts, reflections, and memories. 

• Writing allows us to entertain others, i.e,. Short stories, poetry, etc..

• Writing allows us to organize our thoughts, i.e., to-do lists, journaling, etc.
