The Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act (2015) was introduced to the Belleville, Illinois, Transit Authority, but its impact on the efficiency and productivity of the operation was not yet known. The purpose of this descriptive study was to analyze and evaluate the impact of the FAST Act on the efficiency of operation and the productivity of the Belleville, Illinois, City Transit Authority. The theoretical foundations used to analyze and evaluate the impact of the FAST Act were the productivity and efficiency theories. The research questions included the following: (a) What was the impact of the FAST Act on the efficiency of operation of the Belleville, Illinois Transit Authority? (b) What was the impact of the FAST Act on the productivity of the Belleville, Illinois Transit Authority? (c) What processes was used to resolve any disclosed deficiencies, related to the FAST Act, in the Belleville, Illinois Transit Authority? The results of this study provided information pertinent to the impact of the FAST Act upon the efficiency of operation and productivity of the Belleville, Illinois, City Transit Authority. Data were collected through data mining of public records. The researcher also collected and analyzed archived data related to the productivity and efficiency of operation of the Belleville, Illinois, City Transit Authority to compare the findings and results of the two data sources to identify any specific areas of convergence or divergence to strengthen the validity and reliability of the methodology used.
